Invite #2
SUBJECT: You’re invited to an experiment (with good snacks)If you are receiving this, you are someone we adore who also happens to have excellent ideas.
Shoshana and I are starting a series of Prompt Parties—decidedly small gatherings that arepart Tupperware party part AI Klatch, and we need a few co-designers.
Here’s what we know: When women of a certain age gather around a lot of cheese, they can solve almost anything together.
Why you?: You are smart, curious, community-minded. Your strong opinions, willingness to throw out wild ideas, and unique take on things are exactly what we need to build something worthwhile. Our vision isn’t to catch up or keep up. It’s to be curious and engaged around what comes next with the most brilliant, giving, thoughtful women we can gather.
What to expect: Please see photos from our last event below. As with the last one, part of the fun is bringing people together around a table who don’t know each other yet (you’re on BCC for a reason
). We’ll provide tasty snacks, drinks, and structure to the chaos.
The evening: MondayJuly 21, 6-9pm at Nina’s house in Glen Park, San Francisco.
What to bring: your laptop and something thorny you’re dealing with—a midlife pivot, a delicate conversation that needs to be had, a complicated trip that needs to be planned, a new business idea, anything really. The last event involved a friendship dynamic that was complicated in the most modern way.
Your prereads — should you be so inclined (but let’s be honest, we’re inviting you because you ARE that kind of person):
- Chief Word Officer, a new Substack by an editor at the Economist and a novelist
- Christoph Niemann’s Sketched Out in the NY Times Magazine
- How I AI: How a 91-year-old vibe-coded a complex church event management system
This is a grand experiment and we are so happy you will be a part of it.
